Earlier this year I had the good fortune of MC'ing RAMFEST, held at Nekkies, which boasted a host of metal bands that made too much noise. I am super stoked to see that the vibe for RAMFEST '09 has been adjusted to appeal to a broader market, while at the same time still featuring talent from an array of genres.
The Fourie brothers (from KLT and Trumpet Tree in Stellenbosch) have been hard at work with preparations for next year's fest, and it will pay off - 45+ acts appearing on 3 separate stages; camping, braai'ing and swimming areas and also massive shading provided for those mid-gig spliffs...
At RAMFEST '08 we witnessed Lark call it quits with guns blazing for their final performance, and there were many sad faces after the show saying "I can't believe I'll never get to see Lark again." Well, don't. Next year, Lark will grace us with a once-off reunion jam at none other than RAMFEST. Sweet nips! Also, revellers at next years shin-dig will witness the launch performance from Die Antwoord, previously MaxNormal.TV, which should prove rather entertaining.
